AI In The Wild: Exploring The Ethics of AI

Jan Hendrik Combrink

Jan is a Data Scientist originally from Pietermaritzburg with degrees in Mechatronic and Electronic engineering. When he's not pondering interesting problems in computer vision, Jan is spending all his money on music gear.

Gerard Walsh

Before working as a Data Scientist, Gerard completed degrees in Mechanical and Mechatronic engineering. Although born and bred in Cape Town, he has not yet embraced the recent craze for ice water immersion - a keen paddler, Gerard prefers to keep an oar's length between himself and the Atlantic. The acceleration he's most obsessed with, however, is that of Neural Nets by hardware.

Zamuxolo Solomon

Zamu is a Software Engineer. From the small town of Prieska on the southern bank of the Orange River (original name - Prieschap: “place of the lost she-goat”), he went on to complete a degree in Mechatronic Engineering at UCT. But not before his 'total body articulation' apprenticeship in the polyrhythmic art of gumboot dancing. Zamu is now completing a Masters in electrical engineering focusing on radar.
